Multimap API V1.2 Documentation - Implementation Guidelines
Welcome to the Multimap API V1.2 documentation!
The Multimap API is a one-stop, global location service, with a rich set of features and a number of programmatic interfaces.
If you are designing a browser-based AJAX application with features such as draggable maps, overlays, polylines, widgets and information boxes, you may wish to start by reading the documentation on Multimap API V1.2 JavaScript examples. The documentation provides a wide range of working examples that demonstrate many of the various features of the API, allowing you to build highly-interactive websites.
If you are looking to build a server-based application, you may wish to look at the documentation on the Multimap API V1.2 Web Services. The Web Services provide a REST XML/JSON interface for Geocoding, Spatial Searching and Routing. The Web Services also provide Static Maps for providing simple, static map images, which are ideal for those users who cannot use the advanced features of the Multimap API V1.2 JavaScript.
If you are using your Multimap API service to store your own data in a table of addresses on Multimap's servers, you can manipulate and substitute that data directly over the Internet using Multimap's XML Data Upload service.
Before you start building your applications, we advise you to read this document first and then read the release notes.
