Routing: Travel Directions - Ford

The Travel Directions service provides step-by-step driving and walking directions from one address to another. It is available in a number of countries and languages. When combined with In-line or Storefinder, it helps users get to the outlets of their choice. Alternatively, Travel Directions can be implemented as a general route-planner.

  • Having selected an item of interest from the list of those delivered by Multimap's Storefinder service, the dealership's address is pre-filled.
  • User enters the journey start-point.
  • The service accommodates non-unique place names and common misspellings by prompting users for further information, if necessary.

  • Trail of route is represented by numbered icons on a map.
  • It appears elsewhere as a list of text directions. The route can also be represented as a highlighted route.
  • Cumulative distance and time for journey are calculated.

Flexibility

  • Waypoints — include Waypoint functionality to enable users to plan journeys with multiple stops.
  • Search along Route — enable your locations or other points of interest to be searched for within a corridor width of a route result.
  • Service available as an XML feed.
