Introduction

This page explains how Multimap customers can manage user accounts in Multimap's Client Zone extranet portal. Client Zone allows customers to manage their employees' accounts and their associated permissions and logins. Specifically, customers can:

Default User Account Values

When your first Multimap service is set up, your Multimap account manager informs you of the default Client Zone user account login names and passwords for your:

Please ask your Multimap account manager to grant your company-wide Client Zone user account:

If you have more than one Multimap service, each service has its own default Client Zone user account (whose name matches the service name) and password.

Initially, your Multimap account manager sets up the passwords for all your Client Zone user accounts; please ask if you wish to have specific passwords assigned to any of these accounts. If you wish, you can specify all your Client Zone user accounts to have the same password, or assign separate passwords to each user account.

(After you have logged in to Client Zone for the first time with a user account that has been granted the relevant permissions, you can edit all your user accounts' passwords and other details yourself.)

User Permissions

You can specify the access rights and permissions each user account has within Client Zone:

Adding New Users

In addition to the user accounts that are created simultaneously with your Multimap services, you can add more user accounts and manage them via Client Zone.

To create a new Client Zone user account:

  1. Log in to Client Zone using an account that has full administration rights.
  2. Click on the Users tab at the top left of the web page to display the Manage users page.
  3. Click on the Create new user button.
  4. On the Create a new user page, enter a username and password for the new user and click Next.
  5. On the next page, enter the new user's first name, last name and email address.
  6. On the next page, use the radio buttons to set up the required settings for the new user's account permissions.
  7. If you have selected "specific services only", click on the list of services that appears on the next screen, copying the services to which you wish the new user to have access from the list on the left to the list on the right.
  8. When you are satisfied that all the new user's details are correct, click on the Create User button. A message appears in red to confirm that the user account has been created.
  9. Click on Cancel to return to the Manage users page.

Editing User Details

To change the details of a Client Zone user account (including account permissions):

  1. Log in to Client Zone using an account that has full administration rights.
  2. Click on the Users tab at the top left of the web page to display the Manage users page.
  3. Click on the Edit... button to the right of the user record whose details you wish to update.
  4. Make the changes to the user account.
  5. Click on the Update user button to save your changes and return to the Manage users page.

Deleting Users

To delete a Client Zone user account:

  1. Log in to Client Zone using an account that has full administration rights.
  2. Click on the Users tab at the top left of the web page to display the Manage users page.
  3. Click on the Delete user button to the right of the user record whose details you wish to update.
  4. When a dialog box appears asking you to confirm you wish to delete the account, click on OK.
