Storefinder Service

Storefinder is a "where's my nearest?" search that allows users to enter a postal (or ZIP) code, address, or placename to view their nearest stores or outlets as icons on a map. It works from your company's own database of locations, is quick to implement, and is available for most countries via both XML and HTML. Searches can be refined by product type or other criteria. Following is an example of the service implemented by Ford.

1: Storefinder Search

• User enters details of his/her location (postal/ZIP code or place name) to search for the nearest Ford dealers.
• A click-through from an overview map can also be set up easily.
• Filters can be added easily, e.g., “Find only those retailers/dealers open on a Sunday,” or, “with disabled facilities.”

2: Regional Results

• The nearest Ford dealers are listed in order of proximity and shown as icons on the map.
• Details such as address, telephone number and opening times, can be displayed.
• Distance from the user's location is calculated (to nearest 0.1 mile/km).

3: Local Results

• User selects a listing to access a specific page showing the dealer/retailer’s location on a street-level map , with zoom in/out functionality. The Ford logo pinpoints the exact location of the dealership/retailer of interest.
• Local information about train and metro stations can also be shown.
• The page is printer-friendly
