Portal Service

The Portal Service contains the full functionality of the Multimap consumer web site itself. Maps cover every scale from regional to street level, and include full zoom in/out and pan N,S,E,W functionality. This service has been shown to drive traffic and retain user interest. Following is an example of the service implemented by Tiscali.

1: Portal Search

• A user enters location details (e.g., country, region, place for worldwide maps; and postcode, place name, London street name, airport or grid reference for the UK).
• If more address detail is needed, he/she is prompted to select a place from a list of the most likely addresses.

2: Results

• Location is pinpointed with a red circle.
• User can pan vertically, horizontally and diagonally and zoom in/out to adjust his/her view.
• The service is 100% customisable to your website’s look and feel and is also available as an XML feed.
