Travel Directions Service

The Travel Directions service provides step-by-step driving and walking directions from one address to another. It is available in a number of countries and languages. When combined with In-line or Storefinder, it helps users get to the outlets of their choice. Alternatively, Travel Directions can be implemented as a general route-planner. The following example of the service - implemented by Opodo - shows a route from Manchester airport to the user's hotel in Manchester.

1: Travel Directions Form

• Having selected a destination, user chooses a hotel from the list of those delivered by Multimap's Storefinder service.
• User accesses further details regarding his/her hotel of choice, including a link to Multimap's Travel Directions service.
• The hotel's address is pre-filled, as the service is integrated with Storefinder, as is the nearest airport's address.

2: Travel Directions Results

• Trail of route is highlighted on a map, and appears as a list of text directions.
• User can click on a link for a particular direction to access a more detailed map of the area.
• Cumulative distance and time for journey are calculated.
