Business Services
Case Studies
Multimap provides mapping and location-based services to more than 1,000 businesses, across many industries and most countries. The following case studies provide examples of services we have implemented for customers in the automotive, property, public service, retail, and travel sectors.
Automotive Sector
Ford Case Study
Leading automotive manufacturer Ford uses Multimap's Storefinder and Travel Directions services on its US and European web sites to enhance users' experience of the sites and drive more traffic to their dealerships.
Chevrolet Case Study
Chevrolet uses Multimap's 'Storefinder' service with driving distance functionality on www.chevrolet.co.uk. By taking into account road features such as lakes, rivers and the coast, which might impact journey time, the proximity search results delivered by Multimap are even more accurate.
Property Sector
Savills Case Study
Maps are an important element of the Savills web site. "Maps help improve the quality of user experience and contribute to a high-quality online environment ," says Rebecca Hurley, Web Services Director.
Foxtons Case Study
Foxtons has deployed Multimap’s XML Portal service on both its US and UK web sites. US property hunters can access interactive maps of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, with mouse-overs containing top-line information, as well as step-by-step travel directions. In addition to these services, Foxtons’ UK site offers property hunters the option to view local schools and transport links, and to access aerial photographs of areas of interest.
Public Service Sector
Brent Council Case Study
Brent Council’s web site is an excellent example of e-government in action, and of the ways in which our mapping services can enhance the provision of local information by making it more accessible.
Sussex Police Case Study
Sussex Police Force asked Multimap to develop a web-based service that could help combat the problem of abandoned cars. The result was Abandoned Vehicle Finder; a unique application that allows members of the public to report the precise location of an abandoned vehicle through Sussex Police's web site.
Retail Sector
MFI Case Study
MFI's shop locator service covers all of its 200+ stores in Great Britain. Users can search for and locate their nearest MFI store by town, city, postcode or London street. They can also search specifically for stores that stock particular products.
Superdrug Case Study
Superdrug Stores Plc is a leading health and beauty retailer, with more than 700 stores in high street and shopping mall locations throughout the UK. To help its customers locate its retail sites, Superdrug uses Multimap’s Storefinder service as an integral part of its web site.
Travel & Tourism Sector
Lastminute.com Case Study
Lastminute.com chose Multimap to support a worldwide hotel and restaurant finder. We embed mapping in their web site via XML. The service lets users search for hotels and restaurants, and view them on an interactive map. More than 100 countries are covered. The service is also available via mobile phone to Vodafone and O2 customers in the UK.
Active Hotels Case Study
Active Hotels has deployed Multimap's 'In-line' service to help customers make an informed decision about which accommodation provider to opt for. Thanks to the service, users of www.activehotels.com can view content-rich, interactive maps for accommodation providers in the UK, Germany, Italy, France and Spain.
