Multimap Voted Best Site in the Prestigious Imperatives Digital Awards

www.multimap.com has been voted the UK’s number one web site by readers of the digital industry’s leading online publication, www.netimperative.com. The announcement was made at the Imperatives Digital Awards, London, on 30th March. Multimap’s success bears testament to the popularity of the site among its 7.3 million-strong unique user base.

Several hundred web sites were submitted for the awards, and internet users from the general public and business communities were given a month to vote for their favourite sites from the shortlist selected by the panel of judges. The shortlist included fellow industry heavyweights, Genes Reunited, the UK’s largest family tree, genealogy and ancestry site and offshoot of Friends Reunited; and TheyWorkforYou.com, the online resource for people looking for information about, and communication with, their representatives in local and central government.

Mike Butcher, editor of Netimperative, and chairman of the judging panel which put Multimap forward for the online vote said: "The fact that the industry and consumers have voted Multimap as their best site just goes to show how enormously popular the site has become. It's clearly such a part of our daily lives that I daresay many could not live without it. There are few meetings arranged without Multimap's help, and I daresay most of British business would seize up without it! Winning this category is a public stamp of approval of such a useful site - and it's well deserved."
