Multimap.com Partners with PSMA to Launch Industry-leading Australian Mapping Services
Multimap, the leading Internet mapping provider in Europe, is entering the Australian market with the launch of
its new website www.multimap.com.au, and business mapping services for Australian websites. The new Australian services are
based on high-quality mapping and spatial data provided by PSMA Australia.
The launch brings Europe’s most popular internet mapping brand to Australia. Multimap delivers more online
maps and geo-spatial ("where's my nearest?") searches to more consumers and companies than any other supplier in Europe.
All of its services are offered on mobile, PDA, kiosk, and interactive TV platforms and in multiple languages. Multimap is
also the winner of several awards for both its consumer website and its business mapping services.
Partnership with PSMA is a key element of Multimap’s move into the Australian market. "Multimap’s strategy
is to seek out the providers of the highest-quality map data in every market we enter,” said Sean Phelan, Multimap’s founder
and chairman. “PSMA is Australia’s pre-eminent provider, with the most comprehensive national mapping data set. They’re
also very responsive, market-oriented partners. We’re looking forward to building their map data into more of our own
services, and into the websites of many Australian businesses.”
Dan Paull, Chief Executive Officer of PSMA Australia, said, “On behalf of PSMA Australia, I am pleased to
welcome Multimap.com to Australia. I believe that the Australian market offers exciting opportunities for Multimap to expand
its distribution of high-quality online services and I am pleased that Multimap has selected PSMA Australia datasets to
provide the spatial foundation for its web services.
I look forward to PSMA Australia working closely with Multimap to establish and expand its operations in
Australia.”
