Multimap Chooses Sydney for Asia Pacific Office
Europe’s leading online provider of internet mapping services, Multimap, has chosen Sydney as the location for a regional Asia-Pacific office.
Multimap Australasia has been set up to service Multimap’s international and local customers in the Asia Pacific region.
The company currently delivers over six million maps globally each day and now plans to make Multimap
Australasia its regional base, overseeing sales to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and other ASEAN nations.
Multimap Australasia’s managing director, Chris Warrick, said, “We chose Sydney due to the city’s access to regional markets and to qualified staff, both of which make it an excellent
hub for the Asia Pacific region.”
“Our decision was made easier by the impressive assistance we received from the NSW Department of State and Regional
Development. Its excellent team has been very pro-active right from the outset, and is to be congratulated on all aspects
of its support infrastructure.”
Multimap has established its initial Sydney offices in Carrington St in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
“Our services have been available in Australia since we partnered with the Australian spatial data company, Public Sector
Mapping Agency (PSMA) and WA real estate guide, Aussiehome.com, in early 2003. This has enabled us to service our
international clients and to build up an in-depth local knowledge of the region well in advance of setting up our Asia
Pacific office here, Warrick continued.”
